… as in, “sha-vee.”  As in, short for Xavier. And clearly, this little guy is just as sweet as his name :)

I actually ended up visiting baby Xavi and his family three times – once at the end of fall before he was born and then twice again when he was 9 and 10 days old (the latter has become quite routine for our baby sessions during the winter months as there is a very limited window of good natural light this time of year.. *shakes fist at midwest weather gods*).  Although it was more my pleasure than anything to return again and again as I have really enjoyed getting to know Xavi’s parents and am so thankful that a friend referred them to me!  They made me many amazing cups of coffee to keep me going and during feedings we chatted about all sorts of things including their love for cycling, great books (anything Malcolm Gladwell is a ‘to-read list’ must!), how they met, where they grew up.. well, you get the idea ;)  Anyway here are some of my faves from those two days of visits.  Thank you so much again K&B for inviting me out to not only capture your journey to parenthood but for being so amazing, kind and hospitable to us! xoxo

chicago fine-art & photojournalism family photographers | the little twins.

Saturday, January 7th, 2012

Oh I just had the best time ever with these two ‘Little’ munchkins!  As soon I walked in the door, twin 2-year olds R & E came right up and dumped their tin box full of toy cars onto the floor at my feet to play.  I knew we would get along just fine :) An hour and a half later I was sweatin’ my tush off trying to keep up with them, they were just full of energy, love and laughter!  Just as mom had  described them to me, R was girly and sweet… a little ballerina who loved to gracefully leap around the room.  She also was totally the boss and kept careful watch over her brother E, who is ‘a rough and tumble kind of kid.’  He totally digs cars like most little boys his age and though shy at first, was such a little lover!  Needless to say I couldn’t wait to come back and photograph their baby sister whose newborn session I just had not long ago (check out her session, she looks JUST like the twins).  Anyway, thanks again to R&E for making it an awesome morning and making me feel like I’m two years old again :) Congrats again on your new baby sister!

orland park family photographers | love to hug & kiss each other

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

I think all of what I love most about this family can be best described by the things that mom told me she wanted captured… “I really want to focus on the kids and capture this time with them. They are very happy and still have a little baby in them. We have a lot of love and laughter in our house and I want to bottle it up so we dont forget these little kid years. Because there are just the two they go everywhere together and are close so id like to have some cute pics of them together. We also hug and kiss them constantly so id love a couple pics that show that warmth. And of course some close ups of their beautiful faces :) I dont mind a couple pose shots but I love pics that capture a feeling rather than a perfect smile.

I’d like to think that these photos captured every bit of laugher and love in their family and then some :)

Thank you so much to this family for making it an awesomely fun afternoon, here are but a few faves of mine from our time together xoxo
