Saturday, April 9th, 2011I truly believe that there are people in this world whom you are meant to cross paths with – for me, this family was definitely one of them. I have said this a million times before and I’ll say it a million more, I absolutely get to work with the best and most beautiful (inside & out!) people. In the long and short-end of things, this family and I spent a great deal of time together in the past couple of months as I accompanied them through their birth journey and getting to know them better (click here to check out our session before Sloane’s arrival!). When I finally met baby Sloane, it was no surprise to me that she was just as lovely and sweet and her mom and dad (even at just 10 days old!). For her newborn session I wanted to tell a story of what a typical day might look like as a new family together.. wake up together in the morning, feed, hang out, feed, nap, and then fall into dreams of being snuggled up back in mama’s belly..
It was simple.
It was real.
It was perfect.

Saturday, November 6th, 2010Meet baby Zevi, who was so excited to meet his mama & papa that he came 6 weeks early! Though as you can see, even at 3 weeks old Zevi was still so teeny tiny <3 Congratulations little Z, Vasili and I are so happy we got to meet you and that you are now safe and sound at home!
Also, speaking of Vasili, I wanted to thank him immensely for helping me out with this session. As most of you already know, Vasili helps me photograph our weddings that we book and now we’ve both discovered how much of a big help he is with my newborn sessions as well. Honestly since he has been assisting me at my baby shoots, my images have exponentially improved and I feel as though my artistic vision is finally coming to life thanks to him – a balance of both newborn portraiture of those dreamy, sleepy poses in addition to some lifestyle images of baby connecting with family. It’s not perfect, I’m not the best, but it’s not about capturing perfect images for me … it’s about capturing perfect moments.

TADAH! So here it is – my first official print ad (which is thanks in part to all of you who voted on my Facebook Simply by Suzy fan page and gave your much appreciated input and feedback!). I am SO excited and honored to have this ad of mine coming out in the fall issue of Chicago Baby magazine. After a lot of careful thought and research, I decided to go with Chicago Baby as the first publication to advertise in. I’m really hoping to increase my inquiries for maternity, newborn & (most of all) births!
